For me, there is just something about a stage. When I walk into a theater and gaze upon that elevated wood I feel a special kind of energy. Anything is possible on a stage. Wars can end. True love can be found. Equality can be gained. The light shines on all that is right and wrong with the world on a stage. Theater can be an agent of growth and change. On Hualien...
Things have been shaky here at Lion English Academy, literally. Earthquakes began to intermittently strike Taiwan on February 4th. On last Tuesday I witnessed a student being shaken about right before my eyes. Thankfully, she is okay. Sadly the same can not be said for all of the residents of Hualien. 280 people were injured and 17 were killed as a result of the powerful Earthquake which struck on February 7th. Welcoming the New Year
Lunar New Year is right around the corner. I am very grateful for the chance to welcome a new year, again. Quite frankly 2018 has been a little tough so far. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked. Sickness. It seems that I and many around me have been struck with lingering illnesses. The cold and flu season in the States has been vicious.
